Eric lives in Poplar Grove with his wife, Karri, and his three children, Addison, Brooklyn and Cora. Addison attends Belvidere Central Middle School, and Brooklyn attends Lincoln Elementary School. Having children attending Belvidere School District 100, Eric is invested in providing not only his children, but, most importantly, our community's children, a great education that will prepare our children to be the leaders of the future.
Eric was born in Arlington Heights, Illinois, attending elementary/middle schools in Prospect Heights, Illinois and high school at John Hersey High School in Arlington Heights. Following high school, Eric attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison, graduating in 2001 with a B.A. in political science and a B.A. in economics. Upon graduating college, Eric enrolled at University of Illinois-Chicago John Marshall Law School (formerly The John Marshall Law School), where he graduated in June 2004.
Eric has been practicing law since November 2004. Currently, he owns his own general practice law firm, Eric J. Miller Law Group, Ltd. in Rockford, Illinois.
Eric became involved locally in 2016. He was elected as a delegate from the 16th Congressional District to the 2016 Republican National Convention. In April 2017, Eric was elected as a trustee for the Village of Poplar Grove, where he is also running for re-election. In May 2019, Village President Owen Costanza appointed Eric as the Finance Chairman for the board of trustees. Additionally, Eric also serves on the executive committee as Secretary of the Boone County Republican Central Committee.
Eric also enjoys giving back to his community. In December 2017, he became President of Empower Boone, Inc, the largest food pantry in Boone County. In partnership with the Northern Illinois Food Bank, Eric works to find innovative ways to combat hunger not only in Boone County, but throughout Northern Illinois.
